Mid-Face Lift

When people think of a facelift – they think of the surgery that pulls the entire face, where the incisions are hidden in the hairline.  But, with all of the advances in plastic surgery technology, there are many different techniques and methods that can be done, without undergoing ‘the Big Surgery’.

Cheekbones darling!

1)      Cheek Implants – Since the cheeks provide the most framework for the face; filling the lax surface with implants brings the skin below up and takes up a large amount of slack. Think of the actors and actresses with very high cheekbones, such as: Rachel Welch, Faye Dunaway and Sophia Loren – to realize how high cheekbones allow us to age much more gracefully, and at a seemingly slower rate. It’s like architectural structure…a great foundation is essential.

2)      Liquid Mid-face lift – This technique fills in hollows and provides a ‘plumping’ to the undereye, cheek and nasolabial fold (the parentheses from our nose to mouth…”laugh lines”) areas. It is accomplished with dermal fillers injected into the areas that need to be raised, in order to eradicate hollows and sagging (see Video below).

3)      Fat transfer – This technique can mimic one or both of the methods above – but, it is accomplished with fat and stem cells from the patient’s own body. The beauty of this method is that we also get to choose where the cells are taken from (good bye saddlebags or muffin top : )).

Talk to a local plastic surgeon in your area to find ‘freshening alternatives’ to a full face lift.
