Recently Reuters published a story denoting the vaginal plastic surgery boom in the US with the rising number of vaginoplasty procedures quoted by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Vaginal rejuvenation and other surgeries like labiaplasty are on the rise, because many women want every area of their bodies to be – dare we say – “picture perfect”. Even the private areas, which can be prompted by unrealistic “porn star” genital aesthetics. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) questioned the necessity and safety of female genitalia plastic surgery, but the patient demand seems to dictate the popularity of the procedure.
